An old pair of slippers:
As in as comfortable as.

Are you fortunate to have someone who you trust implicitly?  And they in turn trust you?
Are you fortunate to have someone who can stay quiet and be comfortable enough not to break that silence because it becomes awkward?
Are you fortunate to have someone who you can call anytime day or night?

Are you fortunate to have someone who feels as comfortable as an old pair of broken in slippers?

No stress.
No pressure.

Someone asked me a couple days ago how it is that I draw so many friends into my sphere.  Jokingly, I said:
Maybe it’s my sparkling personality.

I clearly understand that may have something to do with it; however, I believe the basic reason is that once someone breaks down my personal wall and becomes close to me, they will realize that I always have their best interest at heart and then they become as comfortable with me as an old pair of slippers.

The trick here is to get passed my wall.  My intuition is such that I can tell fairly quickly if someone will get passed.  It’s up to them then to scale the wall.  I have several friends now who have been in my circle for many years and we trust each other implicitly.  I can count on one hand the friends who are closest to me and who I tell things to I wouldn’t dream of saying to anyone else.

That’s where the old pair of slippers adage really has meaning.

Are you fortunate to have someone of this nature in your life?  If so you better count your blessings and hold onto that person.  Don’t let them go.  As Thirty Eight Special sang in the 1980s though:
Hold on Loosely
But don’t let them go.
If you cling too Tightly
You’ll lose control.

Be Happy!  Be Well!  Be Positive!
Blessings to you.
