A calm and modest life brings more happiness than the pursuit of success combined with constant restlessness

As can be seen from the following link Einstein at Wisdom and Life,

I’ve written extensively about the man.  This quote from Einstein is much like:
Don’t chase the money.  Also a topic I’ve discussed at:
Parental Pressure

That adage that there is nothing new under the sun once more proves itself accurate.  The Don’t Chase the Money and A calm and modest life…  are on in the same.  I find it fascinating that Einstein left this note in place of a tip.  Was he relaying a message that money isn’t what is needed to bring happiness?

Yes.  You need money to live your life.  I’m not denying that.  However, unceasing pursuit of money at the expense of every other aspect of your life can be emotionally as well as physically damaging.

It can cause your stress levels to rise.
It can cause physical illness. Stomach upset, headaches. Blood pressure spikes.  All kinds of physical ailments can arise from psychological stress

That’s what Einstein meant and that’s what Don’t chase the money means.  Chasing money instead of chasing your bliss is not they way to live your life.  Being in a state of calm and living a modest life as Einstein says can create more more happiness, more peace than in a constant state of pursuit for money..

Being rich is a state of mind anyway.  There is more than one rich too.  I reminded of the pilot episode of Wings in which two estranged brothers are brought back together to search for a treasure their late father left for them. Travelling all over New England, they finally arrive back in Nantucket where they started and find a suitcase in a locker at the airport where one of the brothers has a airline.  The two brothers open the suitcase, but before they do, they begin fantasizing about the treasure that COULD be inside.  When they open the suitcase there simply a picture of them playing on the beach when they are much younger and a note:
You’re rich.  Is all it says.

In other words you don’t need money to be rich.
You need to love and be loved.
You need family and friends.

If have love, if you have family, if you have friends, if you can live a peaceful life and let everything else fall into place then you will find the calm life you are chasing.  And let’s not forget that your life has been mapped out for you long before chose to incarnate anyway.

The monumental parts that is.  Click the link above to get a feel for my belief about predestination.  There are 31 columns in the category.  You don’t have to read them all to understand my perspective.  Several will probably give you a feel.

Be Happy!  Be Well!  Be Positive!
Blessings to you.

Once you realize that life is eternal,
That our souls our eternal,
That we return to light and physical over and over;

We then lose all our distress
We then lose all our fear of dying.  For there truly is no end.
