Tomb/Womb
Transition/Birth

All powerful words.  Being that this is Good Friday, my track record has been to honor the holiday/holyday by not writing a traditional column.  Just wishing all of my readers a peaceful day.

As I thought about what Good Friday means to Christians however I reconsidered and wanted to put something out there to you.  The power of words is awesome, especially in the English language.  Substitute the first letter of certain words and the meaning is contrary.  For example:
Tomb to Womb

Another ironic example:
If you put the word EMPTY in front of each of those words, the phrase then takes on a contrarian nature yet again, opposite of the original word.  Take  look and see what I mean:
Empty Tomb:
In Christian thought, this was the miracle that gave birth to Christianity.

  • The women arrive at the tomb – John 20:1-2

“Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb and saw that the stone had been removed from the entrance. So she came running to Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one Jesus loved, and said, ‘They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we don’t know where they have put him!’”

  • The women see two angels and bring news to the disciples – Matthew 28:5-8

“The angel said to the women, ‘Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: “He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.” Now I have told you.’ So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples.”

Jesus Central

In this case, The Empty Tomb signifies Christ has risen; his body is nowhere to be found.
HIS was the the FIRST transition.
HIS was the FIRST death to birth.

HE gave birth to the knowledge that there is no death.
We should all be eternally grateful for that gift; the gift of transition.

Be Happy!  Be Well!  Be Positive!
ETERNAL Blessings to you.

Chris
