Make yourself available for success, and know and trust in an invisible force that’s all providing.

Wayne Dyer

A friend of mine who has been following Wisdom and Life for sometime now dropped into the library before this past Christmas and gave me a gift, a daily Wayne Dyer Quotes calendar.  I have such wonderful friends I’ve made and they continue to surprise me.  In August when my birthday rolled around, several library patrons left cards for me.

It’s such a warm feeling to know that people I know superficially through my contact with them at the library, appreciate me and show that appreciation.  It continues to surprise me when these things happen.

The above quote came from that calendar.  I’ve discussed success at Wisdom and Life before and it’s one of those topics that never gets old.

Do you define success by what you have in the bank?
Do you define success by what your debt is?

That is surely one way to measure success.  There is so much more to success however.  You’ve heard it said That you can’t take it with you, I’m sure.  I’ve seen many people who have financial success and be miserable.  To me I’d rather create abundance:
An abundance of friends.
An abundance of memories.
An abundance of people who love me whether they be friends or family.

Success means different things to different people.  If I can help someone see that it means more than financial then that’s a good thing.

How much do we in general stress over finances?
How much good does it do to stress over something that is out of our control?
Yes we can control some of the financial stress in our lives by maintaining a balance on what we spend.  Some things are out of our control however:
Groceries.
Car maintenance.
Household bills.

All of these things are out of our influence.  The only thing we can master is our reaction to the events that circle around us.  Most of us will always have debt in our lives.  The question is will we let it manipulate our well-being?

Does being in debt make us bad people?

That depends on our personality.
That depends on how we feel.

You know my understanding of belief is that we receive what we believe, we receive what we think.  If we see lack in our lives, if we believe debt makes us bad people, then that’s what will happen.  We will be in that neverending cycle of debt equals bad people.

It’s one of the blessings I have to understand that yes I have substantial debt but I don’t let that navigate my life, I don’t let it affect my personality.  I understand that I will be taken care of.  If I chop away a little at a time, if I dig a little bit at a time, I will see that debt begin to evaporate.  Being in debt doesn’t mean I’m not a success.

I have a career that I love.
I have a roof over my head.
I live five minutes from work.
I can walk anywhere within a few minutes and be downtown.
I have countless friends.

This is how I measure my success.

I have a strong faith that my life is guided by the Divine.
That God is in control.
I understand that we have multiple lives to get it right.
I understand that we NEVER get it right.  Life is one huge lesson and there are no mistakes, just challenges to improve our lot in life.

Success is measured in abundance.  Not in financial well being.

Be Happy!  Be Well!  Be Positive!
Blessings to you.

Chris

Once you realize that life is eternal,
That our souls our eternal,
That we return to light and physical over and over;

We then lose all our distress
We then lose all our fear of dying.  For there truly is no end.

Fiction is Now My Main Squeeze

Last month on July 29, I wrote Fiction is My Mistress.  I have now decided that for the time being, until my new project is complete, I have to put CJPPhotoNews and Wisdom and Life into hibernation.  Up until last November, I didn’t think I would return to writing fiction again.  Now though, […]
