According to Vedanta, there are only two symptoms of enlightenment, just two indications that a transformation is taking place within you toward a higher consciousness. The first symptom is that you stop worrying. Things don’t bother you anymore.

I used this quote previously here:
Two Symptoms of Enlightenment

Last week I spoke to a couple people about the fact that I no longer worry, that I understand that whatever happens is supposed to happen and there is no use being tormented over things that are out of your control.

How did I reach this point?

That’s a challenging question to answer as I’ve always felt this way.  I’ve carried my faith and spirituality with me all of my life.

Because I’ve always believed I’m watched over,
Because, my life has been truly blessed,
Because everything has fallen into place for me,

Fallen into place, you ask?  Let me give you some examples:
–I don’t/can’t drive on the highway because of many childhood challenges I suffered.

Where do I live and work?  Within five minutes of both.  I can walk to work if need be.  Now that doesn’t JUST happen.

–I have the career I dreamed about.  Working in a public library, reading for a living, writing for a living.  These are the gifts I’ve always had and I created a path to create abundance using all of my gifts.  I didn’t let anyone divert me from my chosen path.

–I see the challenges I faced growing up as gifts.  If it were not for those challenges I would not be in the golden place I am now.

The BEST thing anyone can do to experience enlightenment is

Stop seeing the difficulties in your life.  Look for the gift in the challenge you faced.
Stop using negative words.
Look to the Divine.

For me the Divine has been and will ALWAYS be God.  God has directed my life from day one.  I’ve discussed Predestination at Wisdom and Lifemany times over because that has guided my worry free life, just as much as my faith has.

Predestination is the concept that your life has been mapped out for you before you incarnate into physical.  My belief in this has evolved over time.  While I’ve always held that predestination is a real concept, my original thought process was that God mapped out our lives, since understanding the idea of reincarnation/past lives, I’ve now amended my belief that we as spiritual beings, as light beings choose our destination, our lives in Transition Hall.  This is where we get to choose the life we will crash into.

Which is not to say that I’ve taken God out of the equation.  I certainly haven’t.  God plays such a HUGE role in my life.  I simply couldn’t remove him.  It’s like I say in my bio at Wisdom and life:
Faith and spirituality have always played a significant role in my life. Take either one away, and I’ll simply cease to be who I am.

I no longer worry because I understand all of these concepts I’ve laid out here today.  Can you reach this point as well?  But you have to be willing to put your trust, your faith in something other than yourself.

Be Happy!  Be Well!  Be Positive!
Blessings to you.

Chris

Once you realize that life is eternal,
That our souls our eternal,
That we return to light and physical over and over;

We then lose all our distress
We then lose all our fear of dying.  For there truly is no end.
