The voice of God is always speaking to us, and always trying to get our attention.  But his voice is a “still, small voice,” and we must at least slow down in order to listen.

When is the last time you turned off all your distractions?  Turned off the television?  Turned of the radio?  Turned off your mind?  When did you last be still?  Being still, being quiet is the way to God, your higher power, the Universe whatever power you believe in.  You won’t find his voice speaking to you through the daily distractions you put yourself through.  If you want a relationship with your OWN God, you must take time to listen.  Set aside an hour each day whether in the morning before you start your day or in the evening when the day ends, to shut out the chaos that you endured during the day.

If you do this at night, look back over your day and reflect on how you reacted to events that cropped up.  Could you have reacted differently?  Ask the Divine for peace as you settle into a restful night.  Seek forgiveness if your response to a situation was out of character for you.  Be still and listen for HIS voice.  It may take time to hear HIS response. Don’t fret if you don’t hear HIM immediately.  Trust that HE hears YOU.  Practice meditating each day or each evening and eventually you’ll begin hearing him communicate with you.  Be patient.  As they say, Rome wasn’t built in a day.  As it is with hearing the Divine.  It won’t happen in a day.  As with all things, you must practice because with practice everything gets easier.

Be Happy!  Be Well!  Be Positive!
