The Grace Effect. In the column she writes about reading and I can tell you first hand that Kate is definitely a reader as I see her in our local library regularly.I’ve mentioned here before how fascinated I am by the number of people in my sphere who are on the same page with me when it comes to faith, spirituality and general positivity. When you begin to open up and discuss your worldview, it can sometimes be bewildering the number of people who share the same position you do. As it is with Kate. When I began following her blog a few years ago I was surprised by what she writing.Holy Cow! I thought. She’s writing about what I am. The first time I noticed this was in a column called Drawing and Vija Celmins. I wrote a column called: Making Magic Happen referencing back to her blog column. What I find most interesting about the parallels between my blog and Kate’s is that Kate is never specifically writing about Law of Attraction or Spirituality but in many of her columns there is a definite Spiritual theme running through her columns. Take The Grace Effect for example; Kate discusses Spirituality and Faith throughout the column but she uses a book one as her vehicle for moving the column.
Let’s travel a bit off the path and see what that word “Grace” means. How many times can you recall that word being used:

–Amazing Grace
Let’s take a closer examination of these two passages:
There but for the Grace of God go I
The quote was originally attributed to John Bradford. Mr Bradford said those words when witnessing a prisoner going to his execution. The phrase has been used many times since then and always with the original intent in mind:
That when something challenging happens to one, it could easily have been us who faced said challenge and we should ALWAYS send up a prayer of thanks that we didn’t face the difficulty, while also giving positive thoughts to the one who IS facing the situation.
Amazing Grace
By now with the movie about John Newton’s life called Amazing Grace, people should be familiar with the story of this hymn. What does the hymn mean to you? Do you recall the first time you heard it? What kind of impact did hearing have on you? Did you ever really listen to the lyrics, ever read them fully?
