Love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries. Without them humanity cannot survive.
Dalai Lama
Love and Compassion
or
Hate and Cruelty?
It’s your choice. That’s the important thing to remember. You get to choose. But as The Dalai Lama suggests:
Without Love and Compassion, humanity will cease to exist.
Buddhists practice this on a daily basis. It’s one of the reasons I’m drawn to Buddhism as I know it. I attempt to practice this as well. Buddhism and I share many beliefs. Without exception I subscribe to EVERYTHING on Buddhism Beliefs. I’m sure many of you would do the same.
I don’t always succeed, but success when practicing Buddhist concepts, success when practicing ANYTHING wouldn’t be practice if you succeeded every time. The goal is to be better today than you were yesterday. The ONLY way to be better is what?
With practice, right?
I can replace Love and Compassion with Practice and the quote above can also be understood.
Without practice, humanity would not survive.
In this case, without practicing Buddhist core beliefs, without practicing just about ANY spiritual core beliefs, humanity would not survive. We as a race, Human Race that is, are very close to the precipice at the moment, fortunately, however I believe there are more of us are on the side of compassion, love, peace, joy, than on the side of hate and cruelty.
We simply need to ensure that we stay that way. Perform a random act of kindness today. Be compassionate to someone who needs it. Tell someone you love them today. Better yet, show them that you love them. Reach out to your best friend. Give them a hug today. Smile at a complete stranger. These are all things you can do that will cause a ripple effect throughout humanity.
What will you do today to ensure the continuation of humanity today?
Be Happy! Be Well! Be Positive!
Blessings to you.
