Researchers have found that even more than IQ, your emotional awareness and abilities to handle feelings will determine your success and happiness in all walks of life, including family relationships.

Your intelligence can get you to a certain point.  Yes being smart is important.  Being intelligent can help you master your education, can help you land that career that will bring you abundance.  However, once you’ve landed the opportunity, the rest is up to you.

–Are you generally a happy person?
–How do you handle conflict?
–What do you do in the face of adversity, in the face of a challenge, in the face of disappointment?

I believe in the long term, your emotional intelligence, your emotional being will play a bigger role in your success than your intellectual intelligence.  Think about that.  Once you complete your schooling, what will you be doing with the rest of this, your latest incarnation?  You’ll have to learn to associate with others, correct?

Heck!
Even while attending school, you need to have a high emotional IQ.  It’s those who have comments on their report cards such as:
Gets along well with others.
–Makes friends easily.
–Is outgoing.

that I believe have a beat on those who get high test grades, but who have negative comments such as:
–Difficult.
–Creates a distraction in class.
–Fights with others.

If your grades don’t reflect high expectations, but your teacher comments on what a blessing it is have you in class, I believe that’s a better barometer of your eventual life success then high grades and a negative personality.  Now I’m not in any way saying that high grades won’t help you succeed.  Let me say that right away.  What I AM saying is having a high emotional intelligence, being able to roll with the punches that life gives you, being able to accept that life won’t always be what you want and accepting that will lead to greater success.

Grades are important.  There’s no doubt.  But there is more to life’s success then intellectual intelligence.

What do you think?
Would love to hear from you in the comments.

Be Happy!  Be Well!  Be Positive!
Blessings to you.

Chris

Once you realize that life is eternal,
That our souls our eternal,
That we return to light and physical over and over;

We then lose all our distress
We then lose all our fear of dying.  For there truly is no end.
