Many think success means getting everything I want. And we say, that’s what dead is, and there is no such thing as that kind of dead. Success is not being done; not being complete. Success is still dreaming and feeling positive in the unfolding.

What happens when if you do INDEED get everything you want?  I can tell you.
Then your journey is over.  That’s what Abraham means  when he says:
That’s what dead is.

Once you’ve achieved all you set out to do, there is nothing left to DO.  Nothing is ever COMPLETELY done.  Even death is just the beginning.  As those people who have been following this blog since its inception know, I understand that death is not the end.

Nothing begins!
Nothing ends!
And everything is cyclical.

You only have to look to nature to see this is the truth.  What happens to trees in Autumn?  They lose their leaves, right?  Do the trees die?

Of course not.

In the spring they reincarnate with new leaves, right?  If that’s not proof of life defeating death, then tell me what is.

There is no death.

Success can be seen in the same vein.  As I wrote in my column called The Journey, success isn’t about attaining what you want, success is about reaching for what you want, about traveling along life’s road to your path of glory.  You don’t EVER want to acquire all of your desires…

…Wait a minute, I can hear you saying.  Did you just say you DON’T want to achieve your goals?

Yup.  That’s what I said.

Oh now you’re just being foolish, you’re thinking now.  Of course I want to achieve my goals.

Okay, I’ll refer you once again to The Journey.  What happens when you’ve reached a goal you set for yourself?  I bet I know.  I bet you start planning your next move.  Why do you think that is?  Okay, take a moment.  I’ll wait for you.

Are you back?  What did you realize?  That you’re always seeking?  That you’re always looking ahead?

Hmmm.  Why is that?  You KNOW why.  Shall I tell you?  It’s because life is all about the journey.

Life isn’t about getting what you want.
Life is about being on the road
Life is about the pursuit.

Why do you think Thomas Jefferson wrote in The Declaration of Independence:

We hold these truths to be self–evident,
That all men are created equal,
That they are endowed by their Creator
with certain unalienable Rights,
That among these are Life, Liberty and the PURSUIT of Happiness.

It’s because even when Jefferson wrote this, he knew that the pursuit, being on the road, the chase is what mattered.  Once you’ve gotten everything you want, once you’ve attained all of your goals, what else is there but to transition.

Be Happy!  Be Well!  Be Positive!
Blessings to you.

Back To Fiction
