Seeing as the Christmas holiday is upon us I will not be posting a regular blog column today.  Come back on Wednesday for the next blog column.  Will be taking Monday, December 26 off as well.
I’ve seen several emails come through my inbox this year and previous years lamenting the fact that the world has become TOO politically correct, that we’re afraid of offending anyone who has different beliefs, a different world view.   We say Happy Holidays now instead of Merry Christmas.  I’m guilty of this too.  What I find particularly fascinating about this recent change is something I wrote here on December 14.  In:
Light of the World, I wrote:
I believe that when Paganism began to lose its way to Christianity, some in the Pagan paradigm attempted to influence Christianity.  So if you REALLY want to stretch the whole Christmas/Christianity thing, you can say we Christians can trace our roots back to Paganism.  Even The Christmas Tree is rooted in Pagan traditions.I guess what I’m saying here in a roundabout way is that we all believe in the Same God.  We can all trace our roots back to one central tradition.  As I’m fond of saying in this blog:
We’re all connected.
Why can’t we all be spiritually connected?
Ya know what?  We are!Does it really matter that we say Merry Christmas?  We all understand the meaning.  I don’t think anyone EVER means it to be offensive.  Think about it.  Merry Christmas, offensive?  Those words don’t fit together do they? What’s your opinion?Be Happy!  Be Well!  Be Positive
Blessings to you.

Chris

See ya Wednesday!
Be Happy!  Be Well!  Be Positive!
Blessings to everyone.
