No person is in such darkness as to be completely devoid of divine light.  The divine light shines in the darkness and radiates upon all.

I use many resources to discover inspiration for creating content on Wisdom and Life.  I’ve neglected several of these resources recently, namely the books I have for the specific reason of finding content, as I’ve been using Abraham Hicks, Google+, and fellow bloggers.  I think I’ve come to rely on these at the expense of my book resources.  That being the case, I have returned to one of my favorite resources, one my friend and reader, Lisa R. had delivered to her through the library system:
Christian Mystics:
376 Readings and Meditations

When I saw this book I knew immediately that I had to own it.  I placed an order for it at my local bookstore and the book has given me huge rewards since owning it.  So much content can be mined from this book.  Sometimes I simply leaf through its pages with no other reason than to find some joy.

Today’s column uses a quote from Saint Thomas Aquinas.  I’ve discussed Aquinas at Wisdom and Life previously as you can see if you click the preceding link.

One of my favorite spiritual words is used here.  Can you guess which word it is?  There is REALLY only one word it could be so I won’t leave you in the dark (pun intended.)  The word is:
Divine

Now let’s see if I can interpret what I think the quote above means.  Aquinas says:
The divine light shines in the darkness and radiates upon all.   I’ve mentioned it here before that a positive outweighs a negative.  Positive energy has a plethora of power of the negative energy.

Let’s look at light and darkness as an example.

Saint Francis of Assisi says:
All the darkness in the world cannot extinguish the light of a single candle.

We can use both of these quotes to get to the same place:
That being that everyone has something positive to give to the world
That even if we believe we are in despair, in the throes of a challenge, in a deep hole with no way out, sometimes we may be to focused on our challenge to see there is ALWAYS a way out.

Light a candle.
Find something, anything positive in the challenge you are facing.  There is ALWAYS at least one thing to cling to. Remember that candle I said to light?  Sometimes when you light it you can see your way out of the hole.

Sometimes if you focus on something else,
Sometimes if you give your attention to someone else, if you look for a way out for another, you will take the focus off your own challenge.  This is where I believe Divine Light comes into the story:
If you help another, your light will shine brighter.  Your Divine Light shines brightest when you help someone else, when you shine positivity, when give freely of yourself without expectations.

Want to escape your challenges?
Want to feel more joy?
Want to create abundance in your life?

There’s only one answer:
Give more of yourself.
Help others
Share a positive experience with someone who has a challenge themselves.

You’ll find your own challenge will vanish because you are no longer focusing on yourself.  By taking the focus off of you and giving your attention to another you will help each other.

Your Divine Light will burn brighter when you begin to share it.

Be Happy!  Be Well!  Be Positive!
Blessings to you.

Chris

Once you realize that life is eternal,
That our souls our eternal,
That we return to light and physical over and over;

We then lose all our distress
We then lose all our fear of dying.  For there truly is no end.
