Life itself is controlled chaos and success depends on navigating it, rather than waiting for things to be perfect.

Mary, my workmate at Scranton Library in Madison, the miner of quotes comes through again.

Hate to rain on everyone’s parade.
There is no perfect!
No perfect relationship!
No perfect home!
No perfect Job

The sooner we as humanity realize that the sooner we can move forward to our next evolutionary state.  Perfection ONLY lies with the divine.

One of my favorite authors is Jonathan Carroll and he has a unique spin on God and Chaos.  Much of what he writes about in two of his books deal with these two dichotomies. In  White Apples and its sequel, Glass Soup,  Mr Carroll has us believing:
God is a tile mosaic, chaos is a fat man in a cheap blue suit and death is a learning experience for the deceased.

Here’s a perfect example of what I’m referring to with Mr Carroll’s work.  This is a passage from Glass Soup:
With apologies to Jonathan Carroll. This is a wonderful explanation of God and the Big Bang. Where does this man come up with such a beautiful explanation. Yet another reason, he is my favorite writer.

“This is how it began. Don’t ask when that was because I don’t know. Eight zillion years ago. Five trillion millenniums. Whenever. There was a big bang. In fact there have been several big bangs. But I’ll get to that in awhile.”

“Before it blew apart, that was God”

“What was God?”

“Everything joined together in one grand design. That was God. But God blew apart, scattering his bits and pieces to every corner of every universe. His bits and pieces made up universes.” The bear stopped to let the image sink in before continuing. Leni found herself looking closely at the snowstorm falling around; as if it meant more now because she knew how important a part it played in this story.

“Now imagine everyone of those snowflakes is an individual life. That one is a tree, and that one is a bug, that one is a person…
Every single flake is a distinct life. Some of these living things are intelligent, some aren’t. The bug is smarter than the tree. But that hasn’t mattered until recently. Everything lives its life has its experiences and dies.”

The above passage appears in Glass Soup.

Mr Carroll continues to impress and show me why he is a gift and master storyteller. There’s no one better in my opinion.
I THINK one of the reasons Mr. Carroll’s work so resonates with me is because I am on the same page with him in many matters of my own belief system.

I love that I’ve found a writer who appears to be a kindred spirit.  Anyone brave enough to attempt reading him I believe will come away with a similar feeling, especially those of you on the same spiritual path that I’m on.

Okay.  Back on topic.

Chaos reigns over everything in our lives.  Those of us who understand this and are able to work our way through the chaos, are fortunate to know that life isn’t always going to be easy.  It’s how we cope with the chaos that really determines how we’re going to live.  There are two kinds of people in this paradigm:
1.  Those that understand this and are able to float through life, row down the stream, not against it.
2.  Those that see chaos as chaos and can’t seem to get out of it’s way, and have this preconceived notion that Chaos is doing this to them.  That they are being singled out.  That ONLY they are being affected by it.  When in actuality, EVERYONE has chaos enter their lives.  As I said above, it’s all how we cope with it.  Learn to accept it, embrace it even.  Those that do live a more successful life.

Which one are you?

Be Happy!  Be Well!  Be Positive!
Blessings to everyone.

Chris

Fiction is Now My Main Squeeze

Last month on July 29, I wrote Fiction is My Mistress.  I have now decided that for the time being, until my new project is complete, I have to put CJPPhotoNews and Wisdom and Life into hibernation.  Up until last November, I didn’t think I would return to writing fiction again.  Now though, […]
