Begin telling the story of your desire, and then add to it the details of the positive aspects that you can find that match those desires. And then embellish your positive expectation by speculating with your good-feeling Wouldn’t it be nice if . . . ? examples.
You can say things like: Only good things come to me. . . I’ll figure it out as I go along. . .. Every time you tell your better-feeling story, you will feel better and the details of your life will improve. The better it gets, the better it gets.

I DO figure it out as I go along.  Not that I don’t set goals for myself either.  Goals are things you WANT to happen.  NOT things that WILL happen.  I don’t look at goals as much I once did, because they’re not the story I want to tell.  The story I WANT to tell is what WILL happen NOT what MIGHT happen.  I understand that I’ve shared this story here multiple times but it is a PERFECT illustration of my point:
When I returned to school in 1992 and registered for a library science degree, I was asked by a multiude of people on multiple occasions what I planned in doing with such a degree. I said to each person who asked:
Oh, I’m getting hired at my local library.  I knew it like I knew how to breathe. It wasn’t a story I told. It was a fact I told.  Six years later I was hired at my local library. Three years after that I was hired full time.

That was the story I KNEW would happen.

It isn’t embellishing.
It isn’t storytelling.
It isn’t speculation.

If you KNOW in your soul what’s going to happen. It can’t hurt to tell your story because the more you tell it, the more you’re influencing the universe to bring it to you.  It’s as the Law of Attraction states:
What you believe, what you discuss  what you think is what will come your way.

The more positively you think, the more you look at life from a loving worldview, the more you find things to be happy about, that’s what you’ll find yourself surrounded by.  That’s Law of Attraction culled down to its most basic rules:
Life gives you what you believe.
Life gives you what you look for.

What is life giving you?

Be Happy!  Be Well!  Be Positive!
Blessings to you.
